The insertion instrument can
be used to remove the implant from its package and put it into the
correct position.
Here you can see an implant with an insertion instrument and insertion
post, and behind that the yellow implant package.
The implant package - in this case a small jar – has been opened, and
from the top you can see the insertion post – over which the insertion
instrument is placed in order to remove the implant from its package
without touching it. The implant should not touch any other things
before being inserted, as otherwise it may become unsterile. The rest of
the package is now removed and the implant placed. The insertion post is
then removed, leaving only the implant in the patient's mouth.
Here you can see a picture of the insertion instrument, the insertion
post and the implant. Only the implant remains in the body.
